Located in South East Asia, Vietnamese borders Cambodia, Laos and China. In the east is nearly pacific ocean to the east and south. Stretching over 1,650 km along the eastern coast of the Indochinese Peninsula. Its width, stretching from east to west, is 600km at the widest point in the north, 400km in the south, and 50km at the narrowest part in the centre. The coastline is 3,260km long and the inland border is 4,510km . The country has two main cultivated areas; the Red River Delta in the North and the Mekong Deltal in the South. With a population of over 85 million, Vietnam is the 13th most populous country in the world.
